The Lake Geneva Powwow Committee would like to thank all the people, civic groups, and local businesses that have supported and helped us put on this event since its inception 17 years ago. We are especially thankful for the tremendous support given by Lake Geneva Boy Scout Troop #239, Cub Scout Pack #239, and Lake Geneva Community Education.

The Lake Geneva Powwow receives no support from casinos -- it is funded entirely by gate receipts and donations. Proceeds are donated to worthy Native American programs, particularly educational programs for American Indian youth. Powwow participants (dancers, drums, singers, elders, and their families) often travel from other parts of Wisconsin, the Dakotas, Minnesota, Illinois, and other states at their own expense. It is customary for these people to be given an “honorarium” to help with their expenses and time away from work.
